NUVI 4592LM (Garmin Cooperation, n.d.) an in-car-GPS device
developed by Garmin, provides detailed maps and places of interest that comes
with complimentary lifetime updates. Voice activated navigation, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
are built in to allow users to navigate and answer calls safely hands-free.
NUVI allow users to tell them the full address before navigation, replies
interactively to remind users that their hands can remain safely on the wheel.
It also comes with a magnetic cradle that charges device when plugged in. An
integrated driving recorder backups indisputable evidence in the event of
accidents that can be viewed on a laptop.
One
might argue that Garmin’s product provides the best navigation but it come be
easily replace by products like TomTom Go 600(TomTom International BV, n.d.). These
products are very similar, TomTom Go 600 provide better features such as “Get
in & Go” and real time traffic information.
TomTom
Go 600 “Get in & go” feature tracks driver navigation habit and predict the
next location. This allow the driver to save the time needed searching for the
address. NUVI 4592LM have a similar feature that is a voice-activated
navigation, this help the driver to input the address without using his hands.
TomTom Go 600 score in this feature as it save time finding the location rather
than having the need to say out the entire address.
The
real time traffic information feature of TomTom Go 600 is a route calculator
which gives you faster and accurate arrival times. This allow the driver to
always know the fastest route to it destination. TomTom Go 600 also have the “world’s
largest database of real-time travels”.
TomTom
Go 600 also provide driver with safety camera alerts that allow driver to
driver more comfortably without worries.
In conclusion, these products are very similar, they can be
easily be replaced. However, what set the benchmark is the accuracy of the data
provide to the customer. TomTom GO 600 in a sense have better precision in data as
compare to Nuvi 4592 LM. This show that TomTom
GO 600 is a better product.
